Photographs of Xmas gifts from students, 2013

On consecutive days this week I’ve had the great pleasure of arriving at my classroom to be greeted by holiday libations from students: one enormous pyramid of Coke Zero, the other a 18-year old single malt scotch, both accompanied by wonderful cards.

Xmas card, 2013Teaching – particularly in such a rapidly-changing field as web development – is not without its share of challenges. But the drive, curiosity and achievements of students make it the most important and rewarding work I’ve done in my life.

My commitment to that will mean that the addition of fresh articles will be reduced as I attend to marking assignments and exercises, returning to a normal pace after the holidays.
